BIOGRAPHY
Alberto B. Diez (M’99) received the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Oviedo, Gijón, Spain, in 1983 and 1988, respectively. He is currently a Full Professor and Director of the Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Oviedo. He was a Member of the Executive Committee D2 “Rolling-Flat Products” of European Commission from 1998 to 2004. His research interests include control systems, high-performance ac drives control, and industrial supervision and control processes.
